TrumpDon’tCare now goes to the Senate for a vote and it needs a simple majority to pass. There are 52 Republicans in the Senate, and all 48 Democrats are expected to vote against the bill. This means that we need two Republicans to vote against the bill, and there are a few GOP senators who have serious concerns.
As the New York Times explains, “Already, Republicans in the Senate have aired a variety of concerns about the House plan, including how it would affect states that expanded Medicaid under the health law and whether it would raise premiums to unaffordable levels for older Americans.” The article describes the Republican senators we should watch. We have also incorporated this information into the platform.
All-of-us must push our Senators to reject the House bill. Here’s how:
- Visit your profile page to get more information about your senators and representative.
- Call your senators and ask them to stand against TrumpDon’tCare. (Pro-Tip: Avoid busy signals and full voicemail boxes by using the Stance iOs app to record a message on your phone anytime and have it delivered to your Member)
