Ask Our Governors to Reject TrumpDon’tCare

  • Week of May 7, 2017

"People will die if this becomes law." Governor Terry McAuliffe, Virginia

What Governor McAuliffe said is true. Obamacare expanded Medicaid, which helped states provide coverage to more low-income residents. That is one reason why some governors are sharply criticizing TrumpDon’tCare as making significant cuts to Medicaid.

As the New York Times has reported, governors are putting pressure on senators in their states to reject TrumpDon’tCare. The six states below have a Democrat governor and at least one Republican senator, which is why the governors in these states are key:

Colorado - 1 Republican senator
Louisiana - 2 Republican senators
Montana - 1 Republican senator
North Carolina - 2 Republican senators
Pennsylvania - 1 Republican senator
West Virginia - 1 Republican senator

If you are from one of these states, or if you have at least one Republican senator, call your governor and ask them to reject TrumpDon’tCare. We have provided contact information for your governors on your profile page.
