Chin Up and Keep Fighting

Float like a butterfly sting like a bee – his hands can’t hit what his eyes can’t see.

It’s true-we lost all four of the special elections this year, and those punches hurt. But let’s rise above the current pain and get our eyes on the big picture. Remember that each of these seats were cherry picked by Trump because they were in “safe” Republican districts. The fact that we got close to winning seats in these deeply red states means that there is no such thing as a safe red district because of all-of-us. We are getting increasingly organized and focused, and by the 2018 elections, when we do what we did in Georgia across the country, at least 52 House Republicans will lose. It’s going to be awesome--but we have to keep our eyes open and hearts in the fight.

Here’s how:

  1. Read this article about how the special elections still paint a good picture for Democrats. (5 mins)
  2. Take a walk and listen to this podcast from our friends at FiveThirtyEight, who give the bigger picture and historical perspective. (25 mins)
  3. Read this article by Steve Phillips, founder of Democracy in Color, and get pumped up when you see that our base is growing. (5 mins)
