This week, Congress passed a temporary “continuing resolution” (CR) to fund the federal government for another two weeks until they can agree on budget for 2018. But those who voted for the bill - including many Senate Democrats and 14 House Democrats - failed to include measures to counteract one of the cruelest and most senseless acts of the Trump administration (and that is saying a lot!) - killing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Over the next two weeks alone, 1,708 Dreamers will lose protections that allowed them to apply for work permits and live without fear of deportation.
All-of-us must put pressure on our Members of Congress to keep the Dream alive and pass a bill restoring these vital protections.
