Raise $1,000 for College Dems in the Key State of Florida

  • Week of January 28, 2018

While Florida calls itself the sunshine state, it has seen some pretty dark days of Republican control. The clouds have felt even darker lately as Trump, who carried Florida, practices his (a)hole-in-one at Mar-a-Lago on most weekends. But don’t lose hope, Florida isn’t as red as you might think--President Obama took the state in both 2008 and 2012. Florida also has one Democrat Senator, Bill Nelson, who has served since 2000 and is up for reelection in 2018. The forecast for Nelson remains partly cloudy--that’s because Florida’s very wealthy Republican Governor Rick Scott has his eyes on Nelson’s seat. And Scott is, according to a recent poll, gaining ground.

Florida matters-as one recent article describes, “A loss in Florida would all but relegate Democrats to the Senate minority for at least another two years…” We need to make sure that Nelson holds on to his seat in 2018. That’s why we're backing the Florida College Democrats this year. This week, we are helping these students raise $1,000 to mobilize 1,000 College Democrats on 26 campuses across Florida.

All-of-us must help the Florida College Democrats kick Republicans where the sun don’t shine in 2018!
