The numbers are grim--307 of the current 535 members of Congress (in both houses) have received financial support or contributions from the NRA. As the chart from the Center for Responsible Politics makes clear, gun rights contributions far outweigh gun control contributions.
That’s why we have elected officials whose silence on gun control is deafening, but support for gun silencers (The Hearing Protection Act?!) rings loud and clear. But before we can #VoteThemOut, which we totally will, all-of-us need to understand who has been bought and sold.

In the wake of the recent mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School I am calling to ask Senator/Representative [________] to refuse to take more financial contributions from the NRA. By doing so, you are complicit in the killing of innocent children. If you fail to make this commitment, I will do everything in my power to vote you out.
