Enrage Mike Pence & Support Gay Rights by Buying John Oliver’s Brilliant Children’s Book

  • Week of March 25, 2018

John Oliver, of HBO’s “Last Week Tonight” has inspired a new form of civic engagement through his “investigative comedy” and it’s pure magic. Each week he entertains, informs, and inspires millions of Americans. But this week he has turned his wand towards Vice President Mike Pence.

You may have heard that Mike Pence’s daughter wrote a children’s book called “A Day in the Life of the Vice President". It follows Marlon Bundo, Mike Pence’s bunny who is officially the “Bunny of the United States of America,” during a typical day in the life of Mike Pence. And that’s what inspired John Oliver’s latest magic trick.

As we all know Mike Pence has famously taken positions and supported laws that are anti-LGBT. He fiercely fought gay marriage, called being gay a “choice,” and favored the military policy of not permitted openly gay soldiers from serving in the military. And that’s precisely why John Oliver pulled Bunny Book 2 out of his hat!  Oliver’s book, “A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo,” is both a satire of Pence’s book and story about love, tolerance, and civic engagement. In Oliver’s book, Botus falls in love with a boy bunny named Wesley and the two end up fighting against a Mike Pence looking-alike stinkbug to get married, and live happily ever after. The best part? All proceeds from the book will go to the Trevor Project and Aids United.

Presto! John Oliver created a way to piss off the Vice President, support gay rights, and inspire tolerance in our children.

All-of-us must buy A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo this Easter!
