Help Stacey Abrams Become the First Black Woman Governor in the US

  • Week of April 22, 2018

Remember a few weeks back when Delta stood with the students in Parkland and took away the NRA's membership discounts?

Well, the Lieutenant Governor of Georgia responded this way:

That move is likely an infringement on Delta’s First Amendment right to free speech but nevermind that. Delta continued to fly high--CEO Ed Bastian responded that “our decision was not made for economic gain and our values are not for sale."

Cagle will lose that fight, but what we really need is a governor in Georgia who fights for progressive values. That’s why we are backing Stacey Abrams, who is currently Georgia’s House Minority Leader. Abrams has already made history as the first woman to lead either party in Georgia’s General Assembly. She will make history again as our country’s first African American governor. Abrams, a Yale Law graduate has a background in both tax law and is an accomplished romance writer. And as if we hadn’t fallen madly in love with her already, here is how her campaign responded to Lieutenant Governor Cagle’s attack on Delta:

“If you needed any further proof that Republican leaders are in the pocket of the gun lobby, here it is. Casey Cagle would sacrifice thousands of jobs, endanger our state’s economy, and stick a finger in the eye of a huge employer in our state just to satisfy his buddies at the NRA. Real leadership is working to make sure no child has to suffer through a tragedy like Parkland again–not propping up the gun lobby at the cost of working families of Georgia. Stacey Abrams is the only candidate for governor on either side of the aisle who has never received a stamp of approval from the NRA, and she will continue to champion gun safety efforts in Georgia.”

The primary elections in Georgia are just around the corner on May 22nd. All-of-us must ensure that Stacey Abrams lands on the side of victory.
