Stand with Bernie for Health Care on January 15

  • Week of January 8, 2017
We have got to fight back.
— Bernie Sanders

In his first major move as the newly appointed chair of outreach for Senate Democrats, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has asked us to take an immediate stand: to save health care. He has called for all-of-us, including Members of Congress, to organize and hold rallies in our towns to oppose the Republican plan to end Medicare and dismantle the Affordable Care Act. Called “Our First Stand: Save Health Care,” the resistance rallies are slated for Sunday, Jan. 15.

Real change doesn’t take place on Capitol Hill. It takes place in grassroots America. It takes place when millions of working people, young people and senior citizens come together to demand that our government works for all of us and not just the 1 percent. When the people lead, the leaders follow.
— Bernie Sanders

Hear that? Bernie’s talking about all-of-us, too!

Millions of people who voted for Trump believed him when he said:

Trump must be held to his promises and veto any Republican measures to cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

All-of-us must stand together and hold Trump accountable.

Here’s how:

1. Sign up to attend a rally in your community--and then GO and bring some friends!

2. Blast pictures and videos of that rally on social media, and tweet them at your local and national politicians. Use the hashtags #dayofaction #ourfirststand #savehealthcare.

3. Write a letter to the editor of your local paper to demand your Senators vote to protect the ACA. Use this tool to your local newspaper--the tool also provides talking points, writing tips, and a sample letter.

4. Sign Organizing for Action’s petition to protect Obamacare.
