Build Local Power with ActLocal

  • Week of June 3, 2018

It’s been thrilling to see the growth in civic engagement in the past 18 months. Yet too many people are finding themselves inundated with too many messages. They don’t know where to focus their valuable (and finite) attention and action. And groups, new and established, are still working in their own silos. That’s where ActLocal comes in.

ActLocal was created by Wall-of-Us and Action Group Network to foster coordination and communication among progressive leaders, and build infrastructure so that these groups can more easily work together, connect with each other, and create a shared strategy. In 2017, events across the country, from Jackson to Oakland, Cheyenne to NYC, were attended by more than 1000 local leaders (representing millions of members!). With over 100 partner organizations now affiliated, ActLocal has a significant opportunity to help create the kind of coordination that we saw in Virginia in 2017, which led to progressive wins across the state. With midterms 4 months away, this type of constructive coalition building and improved communication on a local level is more urgent than ever.

Let’s help ActLocal build local power for the 2018 midterms, and far beyond.

Here’s how:
