action 1: Calendar Your Fall Activism

  • Week of July 8, 2018

Bob Goff was right when he tweeted, “The battle for our hearts are fought on the pages of our calendars.” As of Sunday, July 8th there will be exactly 121 days left until the 2018 midterm elections. As Hillary Clinton said in her recent speech (see video @2390) “The Midterm Elections this November are one of the most critical elections in American history and I don’t say that lightly.” There was some laughter in the audience after Secretary Clinton made that comment, but the last joke will be on us if we fail to get the blue vote out.

We know that if you are reading this, you will vote. But unfortunately you probably know people who won’t. It takes time to motivate the less engaged, and the midterm clock is ticking. Calendaring time is more efficient than to-do lists which can remain undone. That’s why all-of-us need to commit to and calendar a certain number of hours each week to get out the blue vote. Whether it’s phone banking, door knocking or social media posting, we need everyone to ride this blue wave to victory. Starting soon, we’ll be serving you up opportunities to use that time strategically to have the biggest impact in your own and other crucial midterm races.

Here’s how:

1 Calendar time (as much as you can spare) each week between now and November and especially in October and November. Starting soon we’ll give you options for filling that time!
