Sometimes it seems like our gun laws are from outer space. Gun violence is a leading cause of death children and especially black children, who are ten times more likely to be killed by a gun. Captain Mark Kelly, who just launched his campaign for senate in Arizona, wants to align our gun laws with that grave reality.
Kelly is a retired U.S. Navy combat pilot, engineer, and NASA astronaut, and is married to former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, who was tragically shot and injured by gun violence. They have both been on the frontlines of the fight for gun law reform for decades and founded the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence. Importantly, Captain Mark Kelly just announced that he will not take any corporate PAC money, making our support even more crucial.
“This campaign is about the people of Arizona, not corporate PACs and the mess they’ve created in Washington. I won’t take a dime of corporate PAC money, and I’ll only answer to Arizonans.”
All-of-us must ensure that we will be over the moon with victories from candidates like Mark Kelly on November 3, 2020.
