UN biodiversity experts presented a sobering report
last week about the impact of humans on Mother Earth. It shows
that nearly one million species - one in four species - is at risk of becoming extinct within decades. And that includes us: “the biosphere, upon which humanity as a whole depends…is declining faster than at any time in human history” and many crop wild relatives that are needed for long-term food security lack effective protection.
Current efforts to conserve the earth’s resources will likely fail without radical action. It’s time to act radically to protect Mother Nature’s vast diversity for all-of-us and for future generations.
