Most Americans are women, as are an even larger majority of American voters. But so-called women’s issues are still somehow seen as a “special interest.” That’s why Cecile Richards, Ai-jen Poo, and Alicia Garza have founded Supermajority. Their goal is to mobilize 2 million women across race, age, and class ahead of the 2020 elections, building energy around a “women’s new deal”— an agenda to meet the needs of 21st-century women, from closing the persistent pay gap to “staggering child care costs, rising maternal mortality, no family leave, and a government that continues to fail women.”
Who runs the world? Sorry Queen Bey, we feel you, but it is literally not us … yet. Girls, aren’t we ready?
